One-Line Bio

I am a writer based in New Jersey.

Biography

I've loved to write since I was a little girl. So at age eleven, I sent my name and address to the Archie comic book company, in the hopes they'd publish it on their penpal page. That summer, our family took a cross country trip, and when I returned home, 110 letters were waiting for me in our mailbox!

I became an enthusiastic letter-writer. But it wasn't until I was older that I discovered I could combine my two passions -- travel and writing, and possibly make a living doing what I love.

Since then, my articles have appeared in publications such as TACA Airlines Explore magazine, AAA Going Places, The Daily Herald, The Orlando Sentinel and The AAA Touch. I've also written for Arabella Romances magazine, What's Hot (a wrap for the Miami Herald) and Connecting Solo Travel News, and I write regular features for The Center News, a newsletter for employees and contractors of the Federal Aviation Administration.

I'm an active member of the North American Travel Journalists Association, the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and the Romance Writers of America.

In addition to my work as a journalist, I hold a position as a Computer Specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration, and I've had some unusual jobs: I've participated in the Magic Kingdom College Program at Walt Disney World, worked as a G.O. at Club Med in the Bahamas, and flew as a flight attendant for an airline based in Miami.

I have a BS in Travel And Tourism Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a BA in Computer Science from Stockton State College, and a Certificate in Archaeology from Leicester University in England. Currently, I'm continuing my archaeology studies with Leicester University and studying Natural Health through Clayton College of Natural Health.

Interests

In addition to travel and writing I love music, and play the piano whenever I get a chance. I also love books and movies. My all-time favorite? The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien -- both the books as well as Peter Jackson's fantastic Lord of the Rings films.
